Sodium chloride is a widely known pure table salt. It is used in the glass, tanning and preservative industries. Sodium hydrochloric acid is a raw material for the preparation of hydrochloric acid, sodium, chlorine, sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, i.e. soda. It can also be used to melt ice and snow on streets and pavements, because the solution with water has a very low freezing point. In chemical laboratories, sodium chloride is used in spectroscopy and refrigeration. Together with ice, it forms a cooling mixture - the temperature of this solution can be as low as −21.5 ° C.
