Acetic acid can be used in the production of artificial silk, film strips and for scale removal. In the form of a solution of several percent it is used as a component of buffered solutions. It is also a solvent in the refining of terephthalic acid, which is used for high volume poly production, e.g. PET bottles.
This product can also be found under the names acetic essence, ethane acid, methanocarbosylic acid, acetic acid.
