Pleurotus (Fr.) P. Kumm. more commonly known as oyster mushrooms are a genus of mushrooms from the oyster mushroom family, most of which are edible species. In Poland, two species are cultivated and available for sale on a larger scale - the oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) and the lemon oyster mushroom (Pleurotus citrinopileatus).
Like most mushrooms, oyster mushrooms are low-calorie food products, with 100 g of fresh fruit between 35 and 50 kcal. Contrary to typical forest mushrooms, which are considered to be devoid of nutritional value, oyster mushrooms are endowed with a large content of nutrients and vitamins, they contain, among others zinc, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, sodium, selenium, B vitamins, vitamin C and 70% digestible protein.
Oyster mushrooms can be used in many ways, incl. make pork chops, cook, fry, use as an addition to soups or as stuffing for dumplings.
Goods packed in trays.
A slight white coating may appear on the mushrooms. It is not a sign of deterioration as it is a natural sign of freshness.
We use a special foil to pack our products, which allows live vegetables to breathe. It is a foil that transmits carbon dioxide and water resulting from the respiration of live vegetables and fruits to one side. Thanks to this, water does not condense on the foil and the packed vegetables and fruits have a longer shelf life.
