Description:
It is obtained from hard durum wheat. The grains are processed: first boiling, then drying, and then grinding to remove the bran and wheat germ. This is how bulgur is made, a kind of fine, light-colored porridge (resembling couscous). It is characterized by a yellow-brown color with a slightly nutty taste and smell. It comes in three varieties: fine, medium and coarse.
Directions for use:
Bulgur is added to virtually every dish (starters, salads, soups, main dishes and desserts). It is used as a substitute for rice or couscous. It appears very rarely on Polish tables.
