Brewing of Yerba Mate
1. Fill the dish with dried food from 1/2 to 3/4 of its capacity.
2. Cover the dish opening with your hand, turn the dish upside down and shake the dish vigorously several times up and down.
Thanks to this, the smallest parts of mate and dust move upwards, which reduces the risk of bombilla clogging.
3. The next step is to gently move the mate to the wall of the dish. Appropriate placement of the dried material prevents clogging of the bombilla by the smallest parts of it and dust from entering the bombilla inlet.
4. Then pour slowly into the empty space a small amount of water at room temperature, until it is completely absorbed by the drought. Matero is still laid gently diagonally, the drought is on the wall. Flooding with cold water is intended to avoid loss of nutritional value and aroma from the infusion.
5. The time has come to place the bombilla in an empty space where there is no drought. Now pour warm water (up to 75 ° C) gently into the empty space. We pour almost to the brim, bearing in mind leaving a small amount of dry mat at the very top.
6. After adding warm water, wait about 2-3 minutes and the brew is ready to drink.
7. When we empty the infusion container, we can add warm water until we no longer feel sufficient taste from the infusion.
To the dried mate, you can add other ingredients that are intended to reduce bitterness (honey, sugar or herbs: mint, peppermint, lemon verbena, cornflower leaves and others). Sugar can be replaced with another substitute, for example stevia, xylitol or erythrole.
Keep in mind the key issues, i.e.
We do not mix the dried bombilla, it causes clogging its holes and the formation of so-called blot.
First, pour cold water into the dish to keep the brew's aroma and its nutrients longer.
Shake the dish by plugging its opening so that the smallest elements of mate remain at the top.
For further flooding use water with a maximum temperature of 75 ° C.
