Fenugreek is found naturally in the Mediterranean regions and in countries such as Turkey, Pakistan, India and China. It has been used in cooking, as well as in cosmetology and medicine.
Fenugreek seeds are recommended in the treatment of diabetes mellitus as a blood glucose lowering agent. They have a positive effect on the entire digestive system, among other things, they support the healing of stomach ulcers, have a positive effect on digestion, stimulate intestinal peristalsis and protect liver cells. Poultices, i.e. hot compresses made of fenugreek seeds, are used in the treatment of local inflammations of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, e.g. boils, abscesses and ulcers.
In cosmetics, fenugreek is used to care for oily and acne-prone skin. In hair care, fenugreek seed infusion stimulates hair growth, prevents the hair loss and soothes skin irritations.
