DESCRIPTION
Hojicha is an exception among Japanese teas and its taste is nothing like the taste of other green teas. Hojicha comes from leaves harvested in autumn and is roasted at high temperatures, which leaves its leaves dark brown in color. Then it also acquires its unique smoky aroma and sweet taste with caramel and nutty notes. In the roasting process, hojicha also loses its caffeine content so that it can be drunk at bedtime and can be drunk by children of pregnant women. The process of roasting green tea was invented in the 1920s in Kyoto and since then hojicha has been constantly gaining popularity now far beyond the borders Japan.
Drinking hojichy helps regulate the amount of cholesterol and sugar in the body and strengthens the immune system. Hojicha, like genmaicha, is often served with meals in Japan. It can be brewed several times, although usually 3 brews are optimal. Moya Hojicha comes from small family and organic farming on the southern island of Kiushu. Its production process takes place in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, where it is also certified and subjected to rigorous tests for possible contamination.
