Kohlrabi is a biennial plant belonging to the cabbage family, a variety of vegetable cabbage. A purely cultivated plant, it does not occur in the wild.
Kohlrabi is recommended by dieticians in slimming treatments due to its low caloric content (approx. 27 kcal per 100 g) and the content of fiber, which regulates the body's lipid metabolism, accelerates intestinal peristalsis and prevents constipation. In addition, this mostly green vegetable with a slightly sweet, cabbage-like flavor can boast of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and potassium, as well as a complex of B vitamins and vitamins C, A, E and K.
Kohlrabi is the healthiest when eaten raw, but it also tastes great when stuffed, boiled, baked, fried or grilled.
