DESCRIPTION

Spelled is an old variety of wheat. The spelled grains mature in a thick shell to protect them from contamination. Spelled can be ground to make wholemeal spelled flour, suitable for baking bread and cakes. Cooked and mixed spelled is a great base for cutlets and spreads.

A METHOD OF PREPARING

Pre-soaked for a few hours and rinsed spelled boil in fresh, salted water in a 1: 3 ratio (1 portion of spelled to 3 portions of water) for about 90 minutes.
