DESCRIPTION

Organic shiitake mushrooms are grown on dead deciduous logs. They are becoming more and more popular due to their valuable nutritional properties. They are particularly valued in eastern cuisine. We recommend to subject shiitake mushrooms to a short heat treatment (about 5 minutes), otherwise they will harden. Depending on the use (f.ex. for sauces), it is worth soaking them for about 30 minutes. before use.
