Sodium ascorbate is an organic chemical compound, ascorbic acid and sodium salt. It is obtained from glucose. Sodium ascorbate has excellent antioxidant properties and is a chemical reagent. 1g of pure sodium ascorbate contains approximately 889 mg of vitamin C and approximately 111 mg of sodium. It occurs in the form of a crystalline or granular white powder. Sodium ascorbate in the natural environment is commonly found in vegetables and fruits.
