Table-top sweetener based on erythritol and steviol glycosides

Erythritol is a natural low calorie sweetener. Commonly found in fruits, vegetables, as well as in plant seeds and mushrooms. Erythritol has a delicate sweet taste. Erythritol does not cause tooth decay. After ingestion, it is quickly eliminated from the body. The advantage of this product is that, consumed even in large quantities, it has no laxative effect. Erythritol has been enriched with steviol glycosides. Steviol glycosides have been used in South America for hundreds of years as a sweetener. The sweetening power of steviol glycosides is 250 to 350 times higher than regular sugar. They are obtained from the leaves of plants called stevia (Stevia rebaudiana). The leaves of this plant are placed for a week under water. The aqueous solution thus obtained is then purified and dried until steviol glycoside crystals are obtained.

Usage: Use as white sugar. It can be used for cooking, baking or sweetening, thus reducing the calorie content of prepared dishes.
