L-Theanine is an amino acid found naturally in green tea. Clinical studies have shown that Suntheanine (the patented form of L-tannin) has a relaxing effect without the effect of drowsiness. This showed an increase in alpha waves (active alpha waves, give a feeling of relaxation and calmness, increase our sense of happiness), and a decrease in beta waves in the brain.
