LenVitol® linseed oil is produced by the traditional cold pressing method. Linseed oil is a product that we can consider as our Polish superfoods. Its precious properties were appreciated already in antiquity. This oil is pressed from linseed seeds. It has a yellow color, tart smell and specific taste.
It is characterized by a high content of polyunsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids. Replacing fat saturated with unsaturated fat in the diet helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels [monounsaturated and unsaturated fatty acids are unsaturated fats].
The oil is pressed at temperatures below 50 degrees Celsius. This is a necessary condition, because the nutritional values of the oil we care about have been preserved. This mainly affects fatty acids.
Maintaining proper health requires balanced nutrition and leading a healthy lifestyle.
This oil is characterized by the right ratio of omega fatty acids for our body. It contains unsaturated fatty acids, which are very important for our body, because we are not able to synthesize them ourselves, which is why they must be supplied with food. Omega -3 and omega-6 in the right proportions have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system. These polyunsaturated fatty acids affect the state of the membranes of all cells that are in our body. They also take part in the synthesis of many processes that affect the circulatory system, its regulation and regeneration.
In addition, linseed oil has a positive effect on the work of internal organs and has an effect on increasing immunity. It helps in alleviating skin problems, supports skin hydration and increases its resistance to external environmental factors. It also contains a high content of vitamin E, which is an antioxidant. It is called the vitamin of youth because it affects the delay of aging and by removing free radicals from our body has a positive effect on the whole body and protects it against many diseases. This vitamin affects the proper functioning of the eyesight, and their deficiency may increase the susceptibility to infection.
Linseed oil in the diet can be used for salads, breads, smoothies and fruit smoothies. It is worth remembering, however, that this oil should not be heated so that it does not lose its nutritional value.
Linseed oil can also be used externally. It is an ingredient in many cosmetic products, but we can also use it directly on the skin for oiling skin and hair and for massage. It helps in alleviating skin problems, supports skin hydration and increases its resistance to external environmental factors. It moisturizes the hair and helps to fight split ends.
Storage of linseed oil should take place in refrigerated conditions. Valuable omega-3 fatty acids are very unstable and easily oxidize when the products that contain them are not stored under appropriate conditions. It should be stored in the refrigerator, preferably in dark glass and protected from light. Oils that are low-linolenic, i.e. they contain a very small amount of omega-3 fats, and a very large omega-6 fat. Unfortunately, it no longer has such health-promoting properties as the wyolinolinen version.
CURIOSITIES
The first information about linseed oil from around 650 B.C. Hippocrates, however, recommended using this oil for digestive problems.
Linseed oil is an essential component of the "Budwig" diet. Its name comes from the German biochemist Johanna Budwig. Oils that are high-linolenic are often called "Budwig".
Linseed oil is used in painting to protect the surface of images.
