Matcha is Japanese powdered green tea. It is made from the leaves of shrubs, which shelters from the sun. This way of growing makes the tea more aromatic and acquires a sweet taste. Matcha reached Japan from China thanks to Buddhist monks and has been used in traditional tea ceremonies since the 12th century. You can prepare an infusion from it, but also add it to desserts, smoothies, cakes and as an ice cream ingredient. Matcha does not acidify the body and is known for its alkalizing properties. It has high antioxidant properties, thus slowing down the aging process.

CURIOSITIES
With Matcha you can prepare Latte, which can be consumed as a coffee substitute. Recipe: a glass of warm spelled-almond drink (you can use your favorite vegetable milk), 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or another sugar substitute of your choice), a flat spoon of matcha tea. To mix the ingredients you can use a blender, blender, hand milk frother or traditional Japanese broom for ceremonial tea frothing.
