The oil is obtained from sunflower seeds by cold pressing. It has a mild, slightly nutty flavor characteristic of sunflower seeds. It is a great addition to dishes prepared cold and salads from sauerkraut, salads, dips, sauces and cheese pastes. Sunflower oil is characterized by a high content of unsaturated fats, including monounsaturated fats. Replacing unsaturated fat in the diet helps maintain normal cholesterol levels.
